Process

The plot is shared between stills and motion from the first recce. Colour sits in pre-production, not after picture lock. Finishing is not a stranger at the end of the job, and the archive is named so another team can open it a year later.

Harbour
1

Harbour

A walk on the granite and a one-page note of what must print and what must move. If the still needs a modifier that will not travel into coverage, we split the day on paper, not on set.

Key
2

Key

One plot for stills and motion. No second lighting truck, no second white. Gels and diffusion are named before the van leaves Rúa do Príncipe.

Hold
3

Hold

Tethered review before the cloud moves. Selects are made while the key still exists. We do not hope the card will save a frame nobody saw.

Grade
4

Grade

Cool without going dead. Skin and granite share a decision. The show LUT is the stills LUT, written in pre-production, not guessed after picture lock.

Masters labelled for print, Rec.709, 1:1 and 9:16. An archive another editor can open without a phone call to Vigo.
